Devlog #3 Progress update: January 2025

Hello, and Happy New Year! 🥳 

Real life continues to be somewhat busy but I’m still hard at work to bring you the full game, I promise. 🙏

In the most important news, I finally had enough text to start programming a bit! I already coded a little introduction sequence (you can watch the prototype below) and almost all of the first chapter.

It was a bit rough coming back to programming after a few months' break, especially as I don’t remember all of the characters’ expressions just yet (and while Vale has only 13 for now, Lawrence has 41! whole! expressions! and I don’t think that’s the end of it orz). BUT I’m getting back to a place where it’s fun to code again AND I made some good progress on art (both CGs and sprites) so the game is finally starting to take shape. I’ve also decided to use some chibi cut-ins wherever it feels fitting so that'll make the production a bit quicker. (and I think the comedic effect of those is much stronger than what I’d normally do, so that’s also a plus)

All in all, things are looking up! Once the script is complete, everything else should go pretty smoothly. 🙏
